I wish this was true, in theory this IS how it should work, but it does not. GIVE US CONTROL OF OUR COMPUTER to set up the way we want it to work, not the way you THINK we want it. If Apple refuses us the ability to set-up the computer the way we want, Is there a third part mail app that will access my iCloud contacts and allow me email updating to my iCloud - WITHOUT taking over my computer? So very frustrated with the "submit-and-comform" attitude of apple and other companies, i.e. I refuse to use outlook or google for the same reasons and simply want to access my contacts and calendar while emailing from a NON-iCloud account. WHY? I can't and won't allow iCloud to control my office computer. I use my cell phone with iCloud and I simply want to share my contacts and emails with my work iMac, BUT, it's All-Or-Nothing. It refuses to add the apple contact account unless I log in to iCloud full-time. It does not recognize my contacts or my calendar app unless I manually add and update each one. ![]() I know I can add an email address to email App without using iCloud, however, nothing works. My work iMac's and iPads are off-limits for iCloud control. I am one of those who cannot use iCloud on any other device than my iPhone.
